Chicago Park District Hosts Last of Four Teen Opportunity Fairs on March 7 and March 14

Teens will receive  resources in areas of education, recreation, college preparation and more

The Chicago Park District is excited to welcome local teens, ages 13 to 19, to explore opportunities in the parks at the final two Teen Opportunity Fairs this season. Last year, the Park District added the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Fair to the series. This event is open to all Deaf and Hard of Hearing high school teens and students currently enrolled in Transition Programs.

Each fair is full of resources for attendees. Teens will able to visit tables at will and connect with exhibitors in areas of education, recreation, job readiness college preparation and entrepreneurship. Those 16 years and older can apply for employment opportunities at the Park District, including Summer Recreation Leader and Lifeguard positions. There will also be park representatives and other organizations on site to showcase teen offerings in sports, arts and culture, and to connect with parents in a welcoming, teen-centered environment.

The two remaining fairs are taking place:

  • Saturday, March 7 2026, 10 am – 1 pm (Deaf & Hard of Hearing Fair) be at Brighton Park Community Campus, 4830 S. Western Avenue.
  • Saturday, March 14, 2026, 10 am – 1pm at Kennedy-King College, 740 W 63rd St. (U Building)

Park District staff will be onsite helping students through the application process for the RIT (Rec Leader in Training) and CIT (Counselor in Training) paid stipend-based programs.
