Polar Adventure Day features husky dog sledding demonstrations, nature play with materials from the Chicago Park District tree recycling program, puppet shows from Night Out in the Parks partner the Jabberwocky Marionettes, ice sculpting from Nadeau’s Ice, live music from the Jake Vinsel Quartet, a live reptile encounter with Julio Mendez and more.
Indoor activities will allow patrons a break from outdoor conditions. Additionally, Wings and Things, a live bird encounter, will allow visitors to learn about magnificent local aviary species.

The event will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Big Marsh Park, 11559 S. Stony Island Dr., located within the South Deering community area.
Parking will be offered, and fees may apply. Big Marsh Park is an approximately 300-acre park in the South Deering Community Area on the southeast side of the city. Once an active industrial property, the site was acquired by the Park District in 2011 and opened to the public in 2016. Learn more about Big Marsh Park here.
