Volunteer for the 41st Annual Earth Day Park Clean-Up Today

Individuals of all ages are able to volunteer. Corporate, non-profit, and public organizations are welcome to register as groups.

The Chicago Park District is seeking volunteers to register to register for the 41st Annual Citywide Earth Day Park Clean-Up. Volunteers will be responsible for laying mulch around trees, picking up litter, and installing Fibar (feye-bar) on playground surfaces.

Throughout 2026, the Chicago Park District has recruited over 150 site captains to facilitate the efforts of volunteers at neighborhood parks. Supplies such as garbage bags, gloves, and other tools will be provided by the Chicago Park District and other partners.

In 2025, over 2,500 volunteers helped clean up 170 Chicago Park District sites. Registration is available at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/earth-day.

Clean-up events start April 11, 2026, and several sites will host efforts throughout the week leading up to the largest Earth Day events on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

In 2025, the Chicago Park District welcomed over 14,000 volunteers who contributed over 55,000 hours as stewards, docents, Earth Day volunteers, athletics coaches, activities instructors, Park Advisory Council members, and more. If patrons wish to participate beyond Earth Day, visit: www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/volunteer.  Earth Day in the Parks is presented by Serve Robotics and supported by Friends of the Parks.
